Why we chose the UK
Artisan bagels are not a novelty in the UK, which removes one of the most significant obstacles any incoming food concept faces: the need to educate consumers about a product they have never encountered. Artisan and bakery-led concepts have demonstrated consistently strong performance in the UK, with independent operators and emerging artisan café formats showing the depth of consumer appetite for exactly what Bagelstein offers.
However, what the market currently lacks is a brand capable of delivering artisan bagels with the product quality, operational discipline, all-day format, and brand identity that Bagelstein can. That gap is our entry point, and what represents such an exceptional opportunity for both us, and for those who partner with us to bring the brand to Britain.
Our vision for the next chapter
The partnership model has already proven highly effective as Bagelstein has expanded across France and into Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Italy. We intend to apply everything learned from that process to the UK, and our partners will have access to everything that has already made the brand so successful in those markets: a fully developed operating system refined across fifteen years and more than 100 locations, comprehensive training programmes covering every operational role, an established supply chain infrastructure, and brand and marketing frameworks that have been tested and optimised across four international markets.
We want to look back in ten years at a brand that entered the UK with the right partners, the right standards, and the right conviction, and built something that genuinely mattered in the British casual dining landscape.
